As the idea of a "Spirit of the West" Collection grew, I felt moved to acknowlege the indegenous people of the land before me. I've never painted an entire collection before...I allowed the word "bravery" to ruminate through me while painting. The Headdress is such a beautiful symbol of strength and honor. Every feather was earned for an act of bravery. Both men and women could earn these badges of honor. May we all chose to live our lives with bravery and honor.
This original watercolor is 30" x 22". The Saunders Waterford 140# watercolor paper is mounted on a wood panel. Finished with archival spray varnish and hand buffed with cold wax medium. Custom framed and ready to hang.
