After painting "Bumble Bear" at a small size, I had a vision for this hopeful bear to be larger than life. I've experimented with a new color palette which beautifully compliments the earth pigment in his eye. Unlike the previous painting, this bear seemed so powerful at this size the he didn't need a bee to look at. What he's looking at is for the veiw to decide. Bear Spirit provides us with strength in times when we feel weak or helpless.
This original watercolor is 48" x 36". The Saunders Waterford 140# watercolor paper is mounted on a wood panel. Finished with archival spray varnish and hand buffed with cold wax medium. Custom framed and ready to hang.
