Feather # 180 — Owl

“In creating this piece, I used my hand-made pigment, Rocky Mountain #8, to blend gentle earth tones with deep charcoal, capturing a sense of calmness and balance. The flowing edges and delicate splatters mimic nature’s unpredictability, while the central feather form draws the eye inward with a sense of life and history. Through the soft transitions and layered brushstrokes, I aimed to evoke a profound sense of grounding and interconnectedness that resonates deeply.”  — Shayna, January 2024
