Feather # 269 — Silver Pheasant

“In crafting this piece, I embraced an earthy palette with my hand-made pigment, Rocky Mountain #6, to capture the gentle contrast of the feather's fluid form. I layered soft washes of browns and delicate blacks with deliberate, fine brushstrokes that mimic the natural movement of the feather, creating a dynamic interaction between soft blends and the sharp, linear edges. My focus was to harness a quiet strength, letting each stroke flow naturally, inviting you to linger and engage with its quietly bold expression.”  — Shayna, October 2024
